Incredible winds

Flying from Santiago to Punta Arenas the pilot announced that he "would find some turbulence" and he was true to his word. Toby, with his phenomenal will power was able to keep us airborne but it took a lot of concentration and magic powers.
When we landed it was my first experience of being in a stationary plane that rocked from side to side - a testament to the strength of the winds here.
Several passengers on the plane were going on to the Falklands, via a very small kite (plane). Wished them the best of luck. I imagine they felt the full force of the winds helping them on their way. Romy told us that you must fly from Chile to the Falklands although it would be much more direct from Argentina. Argentina is still smarting from their defeat at the hands of Margaret Thatcher's mighty navy. So NO flights!
At Awasi the winds are relentless but it's spring here so not really a cold wind.
