On the way to see the fossils, the road was blocked by a cattle drive, moving a large herd from Puerto Natales inland to another ranch for summer grazing.
There were 10 gaugos along with the boss man, Mr. Mclean and a woman who had her own horse and asked to join the 8 day drive...some fun.
The dogs, although mongrels have their breeding back to Border Collies, the herding dogs, so Mr. McLean said they "all have the brain of a Border Collie". They work hard at keeping the cattle that stray off to either side in line.
